Our 2021 Performing Arts Series for Students shows will go on sale Tuesday, May 26 at 10am.
Due to the ongoing health mandates around indoor venues, we have made the decision to suspend our Performing Arts Series for Students until the fall of 2021.
We remain hopeful that we will be able to offer performances in person during the next school year. If you purchased tickets for the spring 2021 season, you will be contacted by our Box Office and/or Education teams to process refunds. Thank you for supporting this program and for your flexibility around rescheduled events, and we look forward to seeing you, your students, and your families when schools are back in session as normal.
Regalia and zapateado (footwork) of Los Lupeños de San José transports audience members to another time and space that reflects the traditional form of Mexican folk dance or folklórico (the widely-known established name of the genre). This interactive and educational live performance introduces Mexican culture through various dances from a variety of Mexico’s regions.
Founded in 1969, Los Lupeños de San José is recognized as one of the earliest Mexican folk dance companies in California, renowned for its artistry, history, traditions, innovation, and originality. Artistic Director Samuel Cortez is an award-winning researcher and cultural promoter. He trains dancers and works with artists to create and execute a unique artistic vision.
