This event will take place online through Zoom. Prior to the event, registrants will receive a link and password via email, as well as additional instructions if necessary.

At this remarkable moment in human history, how we each make sense of our experiences will help us better navigate an unprecedented time. In this workshop, join poet and writer Sally Ashton who will lead a series of in-class writing exercises that encourage participants to consider “the time before now,” the “new now” of our disrupted lives, and through writing capture your unique unfolding pandemic journey.

This online course will be broken into two sessions:

  • Wednesday, July 29, 6-8pm
  • Tuesday, August 4, 6-8pm

About the instructor: Sally Ashton

Sally Ashton is a poet, writer, teacher, and Editor-in-Chief of the DMQ Review(, an online journal featuring poetry and art. She earned her MFA in Poetry and Literature from the Bennington Writing Seminars. Ashton served as the second Santa Clara County Poet Laureate, 2011-2013.
